Chen, Shannon X-N., Ph.D.
Dr. Shannon Chen is one of the founders of Yoton International Consulting Ltd, a Hong Kong and Beijing, China based consulting group established in 2004. She is also a partner of Midlink Healthcare Consulting group at Shanghai/Beijing, China.

Dr. Chen’s professional experience included working as a physician in Beijing, China before she and her family moved to USA in the late 1980s; as Research Scientist and a faculty member at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Adjunct Professor at UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles from 1990 to 2008. Dr. Chen also held visiting professorship at a number of China’s universities between 1997 and 2007. Dr. Chen has had 83 peer-reviewed publications and authored nine chapters.

Dr. Chen’s other industry experiences included one and a half year as Vice President at an investment company in Orange County, California, in charge of investment projects in China. Because of her unique cross-culture working experiences in western and eastern countries, Dr. Chen is frequently asked to serve as a business consultant to North-America based corporations operating in Greater China region, especially those biotechnology and high-technology companies, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare organizations etc.. Dr. Chen’s primary consulting role is to provide advice to investors and corporation executives on issues related to formulation, assessment, and implementation of business and marketing strategies as well as cultural concerns and government relationships in Mainland China.

Dr. Chen received her medical education from Beijing China. She received MA in Biology from CCNY, in New York, MBA in HCM from University of Phoenix, in Arizona, and PhD. in Organization and Management from Capella University, in Minnesota. Dr. Chen’s most recent education highlight was to receive training from UCLA Extension in 2008.

Dr. Chen held/holds memberships in a number of professional organizations and societies including Sigma Xi, American Society of Human Genetics, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Society for Neuroscience, Women Business Leaders of the US Health Care Industry Foundation, and Academy of Management.
